Canadian stereo-remastering compilation of a European-recordings originally released circa 1960: Brahms and Mahler performed by Forrester, Fricsay, and Radio-Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. Mono, 1959: Alt-Rhapsodie Op. 53 / 5 Rückert-Lieder Probable source for Kupper, Reiger and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra performing Grieg, mono, 1956: Lieder Mit Orchester THIS RELEASE: Back Cover indicates "Stereo Transcription Also Playable Mono." Back cover data is minimal. No liner notes or timings. LP Labels state "Made in Canada." Back cover states "Manufactured and Distributed by Polydor Records Canada Limited" Discogs company data for Polydor Record Canada Limited indicates it was established as such in 1967. Underlying recording date (p) 1960 indicated on labels but creation of Polydor Record Canada Limited -- if accurate -- makes 1967 the earliest possible date for THIS release. European release with identical catalog number as "Orchesterlieder." That release errs by identifying Brahms as the composer of Mahler's "Five Rueckert Songs" on Side B. Orchesterlieder Bothe releases make no mention of Grieg or Annelies Kupper on front cover. Grieg repertoire is four of six orchestral songs [from "Peer Gynt"] reworked 1892-1895 as "Seks sanger med orkester," EG 177, [nos. 1-2, 4-5, on texts by Henrik Ibsen and Aasmund Olavsson Vinje].
