A.k.a. Angel Mauricio Silva
Angel Mauricio Silva is a Venezuelan musician who works as a composer, arranger, producer, pianist, trombonist, vocalist and orchestra conductor. He has a musical lineage which he inherited from his grandfather Manuel Silva Linares and his father Miguel Ángel Silva, the latter stood out as bassist of the Gerry Weil Jazz Trio, the Billo's Caracas Boys, Los Melódicos Orchestra and Porfi Jiménez among others. His uncle Rafael Silva has been for years considered the trombonist with more experience in Venezuela. Some of his brothers are also musicians. Josué Miguel Silva stood out as trumpeter for the Mauricio Silva Orchestra, Caribbean Magic, La Sonora Dinamita and others. Unfortunately Joshua died on May 31, 2000 (the same day that teacher Tito Puente left us) after fighting for more than 2 years with leukemia. Daniel Silva is another of his brothers who started with Mauricio and became a bassist for Oscar D'León's Criticism, Grupo Tres, Oscar D'León's orchestra, Silva y Guerra, Grupo Niche and La Dimensión Latina . Mauricio Silva was always interested in training very well in his profession, so he studied with great musicians from Venezuela and abroad such as Manuel Contramaestre, Daniel Milano, Miguel Silva, Alberto Naranjo, Danilo Perez, Juan Domené and Carlos Franzetti. He studied at the music schools "Roberto Marcano", "Lino Gallardo" and at Berklee School of Music. His daughters are Karen Silva and Johanna Silva, ex-wife; Ana Caceres, mother of Luisana Royero. Mauricio Silva migrated from Venezuela beginning the decade of 2010, to explore horizons beyond the borders of his country.
