This was a London studio orchestra used for recording purposes by The Gramophone Company from 1911 to 1920. Records by this group were credited as the Mayfair (Dance) Orchestra on His Master's Voice, The Peerless Orchestra on Zonophone Record, and The London Orchestra (2) on Cinch Record. Sessions by this orchestra were directed by various musicians including Eli Hudson, Arthur Crudge, Louis Hirsch, Kennedy Russell, Arthur Wood, James Sale, Herman Finck, Claude B. Yearsley, Hubert Bath, Ernest Lawrence, George Ison, Henry Gibson, and George W. Byng.
