Cuban singer (a.k.a. "Mayte Perez" or "Mayté Santacruz"). Daughter of trumpeter and arranger Rodolfo Pérez. Her debut on stage was 1994 as vocalist with La Frontera (2) (directed by her father Rodolfo Pérez) followed in 1999 with the album “Mayté, Como una Fiera” [not yet in database]. In 2003 "La Santacruz" as her fans have baptized her, she recorded her second album titled "Atrapada" [not yet in database] under the EGREM record label with which she received a nomination to the LUCAS awards with the single "Vive la Vida". In 2005, she was selected to be part of the "EGREM All Stars", a constellation of Cuban popular music stars featuring Pedro Calvo and Haila Mompie Gonzalez among others.
