MAYU is a Japanese visual kei guitarist and occasionally vocalist, born August 3rd 1975 in Tōkyō. He is best known for being the guitarist of LAREINE from 1995 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2006. He also played guitar with NEW SODMY from 2001 to 2002. MAYU retired from the music scene in early 2006, leading LAREINE to disbandment. In 2017 and 2018 Mayu finally made a come back after 11 years playing the guitar for artist Azusa Kobayashi (小林梓).
