Medicine Tongue: Straight from the notorious South Texas Metal scene, came a band that plowed forward and held no punches. That band is Medicine Tongue. Formed in 1999, Medicine Tongue relentlessly pounded the local scene into submission with their unique sound of melodic guitar licks, floor-shaking crunches, and diverse emotion filled vocal patterns. Since the release of their first full-length album in March 2002 “Collide,” Medicine Tongue has been awarded various awards including “Best Metal Band” for 2002 by readers of The Edge Magazine. With sick promotion tactics and numerous live shows, the band has successfully sold out of their first album, all with very little radio airplay. Constantly breaking through suspecting and unsuspecting barriers it is no wonder Medicine Tongue has shared the stage with national acts such as MACHINE HEAD, FINGER ELEVEN, HATEBREED, MESUGGAH, and DROWNING POOL. Just to name a few. With the obvious evident growth in not only the music, but as individuals, 2003 brought the band’s second full-length album entitled “...And Soon The Sun Will Rise”, awarding them not only “Best Metal Band”, but also “Best Group, and “Best Male Singer” for 2003, again, by readers of The Edge Magazine.
