A.k.a. Mehata Hiroshi
Mehata Sentimental Legend is a young artist from Tokyo, Japan who started his solo work in 2007. He has bimonthly solo live performances using his own artwork in Tokyo, does improvisations (guitar, higchiriki, percussion, electronics etc.) and is also collaborating with several bands e.g. Naniga Okashii, Nanimo Okashii Kotoha Nai (avant-guard punk-rock) and Togoronomiko with whom he toured Australia in Feb. 2011. His music is a radical fusion of old Japanese ritual music and futuristic psychedelic noise. Mehatas music explores the subconscious boundaries between light and shadow, vision and hearing, death and rebirth. In a radical fusion of old Japanese ritual music and futuristic psychedelic noise, Mehatas ethereal soundscapes express the transitory states of mind experienced in the fleeting moments when leaving reality and entering a dream, opening the doors to a new era of music from Japan. In his album Noum Zeccyou, the super-future is thus united with the superpast.
