Born in 1959, studied theology and musicology in Freiburg and Munich, followed by his doctorate and a part-time church music education. Serving at the university level as well as in journalism and publishing. Since 2002 Speaker of Sacred Music at the Archdiocese of Freiburg, since 2012 Honorary Professor of Theology / Liturgy and deputy director of the Institute of Sacred Music at the Freiburg University of Music. Walter Meinrad lives in the Black Forest community Stegen-Eschbach.
