English sisters born by British and Jamaican parents in London. Started as dancers and were scouted in London Nightclubs, and landed a contract with Supreme Records. The duo got the producer team Stock, Aitken & Waterman to produce their work. The single "Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)" became their breaktrough. Melanie Susan Appleby, born on July 11, 1966, died on January 18, 1990, of pneumonia after succumbing to spinal cancer. Kim Appleby singer and songwriter born 1961 in London. Started going solo during the 90's, after Mel's all too early death.
