Born and raised in the west end of the Greater Toronto Area, Memetic was steeped in the tradition of the city's great DeeJays, music knowledgists and Hiphop culturattis. While deeply influenced by his Caribbean background and Toronto's international-but-perennially-mixed-up culture, it was Hiphop that helped him connect the dots between styles, sounds and people on the dance floor. After moving to the nation's capital, Memetic has hosted, co-hosted and self produced a series of a prime time community radio shows for CKCU FM (Beet.Roots Radio, Heavy Friends, The New Journey). Off the air Memetic connected with DeeJay Zattar to form TIMEMKODE, Ottawa's premier monthly dance party specializing in classic and future soul sounds from around the world - now in it's tenth year. Memetic is the label boss at Memeplex, a record label focussed on advanced sounds for headphones and dancefloors. After releasing Memetic's critically acclaimed solo record RIDEAU2RICHMOND in 2015, Memeplex has stayed busy with a trilogy of TIMEKODE releases being staggered through 2016.
