Juan Guillermo Aguirre Mandiola, nicknamed Memo Aguirre and artistically known as Captain Memo (Santiago, December 22, 1952) is a singer and Chilean musician whose voice became known in Latin America and Spain in the 1980s thanks to songs presentation and closing of various anime and cartoons. As a teenager, Aguirre joined the band "[Sacros]", which was not very successful, so he decided to move in 1972 to the United States, where he settled in San Francisco, California. He made his debut in the circuit of bars and nightclubs of San Francisco, in mid-1970s, was hired by the company Sound Connection Studios in Miami, Florida. The animated television series superheroes increased their popularity in Latin America and the producers of the same required of voice actors and singers to adapt to that market. Aguirre interpreted Spanish versions of songs presentation and closing animated series known transmitted in Latin America, as Angel, the flower girl; Captain Future, Galactic, The Gladiator, Fables of the Green Forest, Festival of Robots, Spider-Man, Little Lulu, Fantastic Four, Spider Woman, Sport Billy, King Arthur and Ulises 31. He increased popularity in the mid-1980s thanks to his interpretation of the song start of He-Man for Latin America. Also, Aguirre intervened in the composition of many of these issues, with Israeli Shuki Levy and fellow Chilean Erich Bulling, among others, giving life to several albums like The Great Adventures, a collection of topics of several animated series ZIV International, the legion of superheroes (1980, PolyGram), where he sings several heroes of Marvel Comics, Captain Future and He-Man and the masters of the universe. In addition to songs for animated children's series, Aguirre composed jingles and musical curtains for famous series like Dallas and Dynasty, and collaborated on albums American singers such as Kenny Rogers. In the early 2000s, Aguirre announced plans for a CD with several songs composed by him. And he released the album The Return of robots (2004, La Oreja), production with 16 written and interpreted by Aguirre who, since then, began to be known as "Captain Memo 'issues. The production won gold in the first weeks of sale. Later, he released his second Grand Prix (2005, La Oreja), songs with covers of various cartoon and some of his own that as his previous plate, also enjoyed success. In this album, they collaborated Victorian singers Monica and Salome Anjarí, the latter former member of Bys Revolution, besides the producer Hugo Mansi who also produced this album as a bonus track interpreted the theme of Pipiripao program. Grand Prix was the album that returned to Aguirre its international recognition, taking it on tour to countries like Spain, Mexico and Panama, among others.
