Merab Samkurashvili was born in 1979 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He started his professional folk song career in folk ensemble Kereoni, where he sang baritone and played panduri, chonguri and other folk instruments in addition to guitar and piano. He joined the Rustavi Choir in 2006.
