Driving double-bass language into contemporary electro-acoustic contexts, French performer/soloist Merakhaazan presents a personal view on string-music recital. With the help of real-time (auto)-sampling and the using of extended instrumental ways of playing – from classical bow technique to prepared strings effects –, his eclectic sound mixture draws upon styles and cultures : hypnotique avant-rock, electro-orientalism, ethnic pulses, electronic textures, soundtracking, baroque ornamentation, orchestral composition and noisy trance... A singular situation where acoustic bass – the Grandma of the orchestra – plays all the parts of a moving music via multiple electrified sound layers entanglement.
