Meschalina starts its activity in 1998, and records its first demo, “Shut Up”, in 2000. A second demo, titled “Meschalina”, followed in 2001. 2003 was the year of the band’s first official, though self-produced, EP: “Something 2 Die 4”, which earned great success, both in matter of selling statements and of critics and press. In June 2005, Meschalina 's first full lenght album, titled "The Flight of Icarus", is finally out, and, in September, the album is released and distributed in Japan by RB Records (www.rb-records.com), that buys the license for four years. “The Flight of Icarus” obtains disconcerting success in Japan, where it sells more than 5000 copies. Meschalina’s songs started to be included in the set-list of the best DJs in Tokyo, along with those of artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin’ Park, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine and many more. In 2006, a café, called “The Flight of Icarus” like Meschalina’s full length album, is dedicated to the band in Tokyo. At the moment, the band has just recorded its second full length album, titled "Chained Prometheus”. It contains 13 tracks (8 songs, 3 remixes and 2 instrumental tracks) plus a special video track (the single's videoclip), that has been cut by an Italian director. “Chained Prometheus will be in stores around Europe in September 2010.
