Singer of Folk
Romanian traditional folk singer, born in the Dumbrăveni village, Ciceu-Giurgești, Bistrița Năsăud County on August 23, 1949, in a family of keepers loyal folk customs. At 11 years old, leaves his home village following his parents in Cluj-Napoca. December 13, 1972 - Five years after graduating from High School Pedagogical, Mia Dan debuted as singer, at Radio Cluj-Napoca, in the show “La fântâna dorului” (“The fountain of Longing”) Mia Dan has collected her traditional flok songs from his village and from the ceterașii (folk instrumentists) of Reteag. The first LP was recorded in 1972 and stood for three years in second place in the country in sales. In present days is editor at Radio Revival of Cluj-Napoca (Radio Rena;terea din Cluj-Napoca)
