Michael Viner

Producer of R&B/Soul

American film and record producer. Founder of The Incredible Bongo Band in 1972, the group that provided the soundtrack for "The Thing With Two Heads". Viner also ran the MGM record division Pride. Married to the actress Deborah Raffin, the duo also founded an audio-book company Dove Books-on-Tape. They sold Dove in 1997 and divorced in 2005. Viner then created Phoenix, another book company, which he sold in 2007. He was also active in the Washington political arena and produced President Nixon's inaugural ball in 1973. Born: 27 February 1944, Washington, D.C. Died: 8 August 2009, Beverly Hills, California.
