Single SE 2016 on Belzebez label
Electronic (Experimental)
This recording is a documentation of the sound art installation which served as an audial backdrop to Michael Idehall’s 2016 exhibition Malmö Exile Retreat. The exhibited pieces were conceived during an journey to Malmö in early 2016. The journey facilitated a movement of perception into an in-between layer of the everyday routines, and through this window a series of automatism took shape. The primitive paintings and sketches had to be made quickly in order to collect the fleeting nuances emanating from the warped sense of mundanity. Very little intelligible ideas or formulated text survive from the experience, but sometimes it is prudent to just let an experience be an experience. However, one word was written on one of the sketches. A name perhaps. Nathaki. Perhaps this exhibition is a journey into the memory of the experience of whatever that word means.
