Michael Knapp (born: October 4, 1954 in Rifle, Colorado; died June 27, 2012 in San Francisco) was an American multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. He played strings (cello, bass, esraj) and piano and frequently collaborated with his wife, Silvia Nakkach. He taught cello at the Community Music Center in San Francisco for eighteen years.
