Dub poet Born in 1954, Jamaica. A.k.a. Michael "Mikey" Smith Linton Kwesi Johnson brought him to London. Died on 17.08.1983 in Kingston. On that day four men stoned him to death after he was seen passing the Jamaica Labour Party’s office. There were rumours at the time that his killing had been politically motivated, but these may well been cynical attempts at exploiting his death. He, himself supported no political party and had chosen to stay away from politics.
