Michel Banabila joined Yasar Saka for the first time on stage while appearing in 'East meets West' at the Womad festival in Reading, UK 1992. Soon after that they released two albums. Their music has become timeless and therefore Steamin'Soundworks is thrilled to release an exciting compilation “1993” newly remastered for the occasion. The majority of music they recorded some 25 years ago will be available now on most download/streaming platforms. The compilation "A Living Thing" was released in 1998. Both compilations do include new and/or unreleased tracks. Yasar Saka, born in Usak, Turkey, is a multi-instrumentalist. In addition he studied music technology at HKU in The Netherlands, is programmer at Matrix Rotterdam and owner at Yay Music & Media. Michel Banabila, born in Amsterdam, is a composer of name and fame in the electronic music scene. Next to electronics, he uses acoustic instruments, found objects, field recordings and vocal snippets from radio, tv and internet.
