Musician of Jazz
Mick Green is a British saxophonist and percussionist. He began studying jazz in London between 1965 and 1972, participating in several bands. He also played with Alan Wakeman Sextet in the BBC Jazz Club. In duo with percussionist Paul Lytton, active in 1967–71, Mick Green performed across the United Kingdom, Denmark, and France. Based in Devon since 1973, Mick Green participated in Lewis Riley Workshop Band for a few years, and joined Lewis Riley Quartet in 1982. Currently he also plays with Sam Richards (2). In the past, he had been playing for Manteca, Threeway Street, The Barbican Jazz Band, Devon Ambling Band, Ugborough Small Band, and Parish Pump. Mick appears on albums by Lewis Riley, Threeway Street, Sam Richards and Up Sticks, and has gigged with Harry Beckett, John Etheridge, Dick Pearce and Jim Mullen.
