Keyboard player. Roquemore was found dead at 8:59 a.m. Jan. 1, 2015, on the porch of a home, where he often slept, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, on St. Clair Street in Pontiac, Michigan, USA, he was 58 years old. Roquemore was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Dunlap formed The Gene Dunlap Band, with Roquemore on keyboards. The drummer and keyboardist befriended each other at a performance by saxophonist Duane Parham in the 1970s. Dunlap joined Klugh’s band, and recommended Roquemore during the search for a keyboard player. Roquemore auditioned for Klugh in 1979 in Detroit. On the 1983 Dunlap album “Tired Of Being A Nice Guy,” Roquemore sang lead vocal on the smooth R&B track “Take Back My Love.” “A lot of people heard it and thought it was Stevie Wonder,” Roquemore’s widow said of the song.
