"Saikaku" is dedicated to Japanese 17th century gender-bending novelist Ihara Saikaku (1642-1693). "Forbidden Colors" is inspired by Mishima's novel "Kinjiki" also known as the first Butoh piece by Tatsumi Hijikata.
