Singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and producer, born 6th December 1943, in London, England. Died 28th February 2008, in Aylesbury, England. Smith joined The Dave Clark Five in 1960, as lead singer and keyboardist. Since that group disbanded in 1970, he had been active as a producer (for Shirley Bassey, Michael Ball and others), and as composer and performer of jingles, and commercials. He formed "Mike Smith's Rock Engine" in the early 2000s.
