Mikel Kazalis alias "Anestesia" was born in Zarauz, Basque Country (Spain). He began his career in the thrash metal group Estigia, who left in 1988 to form Anestesia. He combined his membership in this band with other musical projects, the most important of which was his career in Negu Gorriak between 1990 and 1996. He also created, along with Izaskun Forkada, the industrial metal group 2 Kate, whose career lasted two years (between 1997 and 1999). In 2001 he became part of the group Kuraia. In addition, Mikel has his own recording studio in Zarauz (called Fidelenea), where he has served as sound engineer and producer.
