Milton Kellem



A.k.a. Jimmy Craig (3) Sophie Hodes Ted Gary

Philadelphia area songwriter/conductor (born 1914, died April 17, 1992) best-known for writing "Gonna Get Along Without You Now". Along with his bass-playing brother Manny and his piano-playing brother Ted, formed the Milton Kellem Orchestra, which performed in the 1930's and 1940's. Wrote under various pseudonyms, including Jimmy Craig (the first names of 2 of his 3 sons), Sophie (Kellem) Hodes, and Ted Gary (borrowing his brother's name). Kellem was also a one-time business partner of Tony Mamarella and business associate of American Bandstand host and music industry mogul Dick Clark (2).
