US graphic designer, born 1929 in New York City, NY. In 1954, Milton Glaser, along with Reynold Ruffins, Seymour Chwast, and Edward Sorel, founded Push Pin Studios. In 1968, Glaser and Clay Felker founded New York magazine, where Glaser was president and design director until 1977. A design studio, Milton Glaser, Inc. was established in 1974 in Manhattan. Glaser’s graphic and architectural commissions include the "I ♥ NY" logo (which has been described as ‘the most frequently imitated logo design in human history’), commissioned by the state of New York in 1976, the iconic poster included with original copies of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, as well as designing multiple album covers, such as Music From Big Pink, For The Sake Of The Song, Lightnin'!, There Goes Rhymin' Simon, Masekela Introducing Hedzoleh Soundz, among others.
