Band,
Alternative and Rock
Not to be confused with gothic metallers Mindfunk, Mindgrinder was an alternative rock trio that was active in and around Boston in the early 1990s. The little known band showed itself to have a knack for eerie, dark melodies on Due What You Willt, a five-song EP that almost sounds like a cross between goth rock and the post-punk of X. The male/female interaction of singer/bassist Diane Bergamasco and singer/guitarist Jim Keppel recalls Exene Cervenka and John Doe's interaction in X, and Bergamasco's pained singing could be described as a combination of Cervenka and Lydia Lunch. Enjoyable but not magnificent, Due What You Willt turned out to be Mindgrinder's only release.
