Mitra

Rock
A.k.a. Mitra

The "Mitra" was formed in May 1994 with the aim of making traditional Heavy Metal with cadenciados, and lyrics that permeate fictitious and real themes. Weight, harmony, cadence and musical intensity are some of the characteristics in the compositions of the Mitra. His first performance was in the "Waldemar Henrique" Theater, at the time, considered the "temple" of heavy metal from Pará. Before the release of the first demo CD, a demo tape was recorded at Edgar Proença Studio - FUNTELPA, containing two songs: Eternal Fall and Prayer of Salvation, the latter, now recognized as the band's "anthem". The repercussion of the demo provided good shows such as the traditional Rock festival 6 hours in Belém and the same version of the festival in São Luís in Maranhão, this time as headliner. In 2000 the band enters in studio and records the demo CD In the Blackland containing seven unpublished songs and the bonus track Prayer of Salvation. However, this CD was only released in May of 2001, with a great show realized in the gym "Altino Pepper", in Belém, gathering several opening bands and approximately 1200 people between paying and invited. After a short period of restructuring, Mitra resumed its activities by making important presentations in Belém, such as the openings of the Ritual tour (2003) and the TORTURE SQUAD national tour (September 2003). The 10-year anniversary of formation, in May 2004, was celebrated with a big show at the Waldemar Henrique Theater, where it all began. After the opening, Mitra gave a show of about 2 hours, playing not only the songs of the demo CD In The Blackland, like unpublished compositions and some covers that undeniably influenced its members. In addition to local concerts, the group was invited to perform in Macapá / AP and close the most traditional metal festival in the city: "Batalha das Bandas 2003", attracting almost 1000 people. This undoubtedly was an important show in the group's career. In 2006 the band participated in the compilation Rock Soldiers Vol.11 (Rio Grande do Sul) with the song Singings of Mercy. Always with the philosophy of showing the work and contributing to the dissemination of Heavy Metal in the state, the band went to several other cities in the interior of Pará as: Santarém, Itaituba, Tomé-Açú, Castanhal and others. Currently, formed by Joelcio Graim (G), Sandro Soares (G), Flávio Campos (D), Eduardo Madson (V), Mitra has been performing, producing shows and in the pre-production phase of the CD, with pretensions of being Their first official album.
