Mod'rn World Thang (spelled with apostrophe between "d" and "r") was a group from Halifax Nova Scotia consisting of J.R.O.C. (acronymn for "Just Respect Our Culture") and DJ Jorun Bombay (Then simply known as DJ Jorun) - The group formed in 1986 under the name "Down by Law" and changed their name to Mod'rn World Thang in 1989 and released their first commercially available EP on Peter Rowan's label DTK Records (who also released alternative rock compilations like "Hear & Now") MWT also released 2 songs on Haltown Meltdown from their forthcoming full length which was due out in 1994. Mod'rn World Thang disbanded in 1993 after the release & airing of their music video "Incognito" on Muchmusic (edited and filmed by up and coming movie producer Mike Clattenberg of "Trailer Park Boys" fame) and MTW's full length album which was supposed to follow ended up shelved. Once group disbanded, Jorun became fulltime producer & founder of Haltown Projex for years to come.
