Moderne was founded in 1979 in Tours, south of Paris. For their 1980 release, 'Moderne', the line up was: - Gérard Lévy, composer and producer - Thierry Teyssou, songwriter and producer - Bernard Guimond, singer - Patrick Millerioux, video artist For their next two releases, the line up was: - Gérard Lévy, composer and producer - Thierry Teyssou, composer, songwriter, singer and producer - Dominique Marchetti, singer - Patrick Millerioux, video artist Their second two releases were recorded at their own studio, and mixed at a Dusseldorf studio which was used by Kraftwerk for their first two albums. The band played an all synths music with french lyrics in a cold and poppy way. Talk about "french Kraftwerk" would be a bit abusive because they did not experiment with synths.
