High Praises indeed!! “I’ve just spent a mini road trip with the new Mojo Filter album as company in the car….. And my mind has been totally blown; It’s been years, since I’ve enjoyed an album so much.” From the genius Brian Eno sampling L.O.V.E. (I’ve always wanted to remix that Arena title music - Mojo’s done it better than I ever could and created a classic in the process) to the kitsch re-imagining of Nitro Deluxe’s Let’s Get Brutal - There’s bags of charm on display but also a deep musicality to all the sampling and complex effect layering - which brings forth a truly emotive and widescreen scope to all the soundscapes. Zaven Crane is a real master at creating psyche-laden, dubbed-out musical worlds you can’t help but visualize and get totally lost in... Tiny snippets of cinematic vocal punctuate things perfectly, whilst beds of sub-bass rumble and jostle with layer upon layer of mystic chimes and ethereal synth-fizz…… beautiful sonic wormholes appear from nowhere - suck you in, spin you round…. and spit you out again into seas of ambient calm - it’s just so much fun from start to finish. This album is a very special piece of work indeed - A future classic in my book - no f**king question!.
