Gatefold Sleeve Specially priced two-record set "Watermelon Man" and "Don't Bother Me No More" recorded Dec. 17, 1962. All other selections, Sides 1 and 2 recorded Feb. 18 and 20, 1963 Sides 3 and 4 recorded at The Village Gate, New York City, on Sept. 2, 1963 "Watermelon Man" and "Don't Bother Me No More" were originally issued together as a 45-rpm on the Battle label. The rest of Sides 1 and 2 were originally issued, with those two selections included, as the album "Watermelon Man" (Battle 6120). Sides 3 and 4 were originally issued as "Mongo at the Village Gate" (Battle 6129), except "Para Ti", which was first issued as part of "Mongo Explodes" (Riverside 3530) Recorded at Plaza Sound Studios (Sides 1 and 2) Remastered at Fantasy Studios; Berkley, Ca.)
