Pianist, singer and songwriter Monica Pasqual is the winner of 6 Emmy Awards and several Independent Music Awards, both for her solo concept album "This Cold Desire", and with Blame Sally. In 1995 she was named one of the top 10 Unsigned Artists in the US by Musician Magazine and was named that same year as Best of the Bay. In 2000, after releasing three solo albums, Pasqual formed the band "Blame Sally" with Renee Harcourt, Pam Delgado and Jeri Jones. Since then they have recorded 8 albums. In 2008 they signed a half-million dollar, 5-year recording contract with Opus Music Ventures. They have toured the US and Europe extensively, performed in many prestigious music festivals and headlined at Stern Grove in a double bill with Joan Baez, their performance there was recorded and released on CD. They also filmed a one hour concert for a PBS syndicated series called "Music Gone Public". In 2011 Pasqual's song, Bird in Hand, was named one of the top 10 songs in by folk radio DJs in the US. During her tenure in "Blame Sally" Monica released a solo album, "This Cold Desire," in 2011, which won 2 Independent Music Awards. In 2013 she formed another band, "Monica Pasqual & the Handsome Brunettes", featuring Joshua McClain on Cello, Pam Delgaod on percussion and vocals and Velvy Appleton on guitar. They released "Is Fortune a Wheel" in 2016 to critical acclaim.
