Band,
Rock and Electronic
Moon was founded by guitarist Christoph Mause and keyboarder Sascha Simnovec, both of whom are responsible for the majority of the compositions. Christoph Mause had previously worked as a producer for bands like "Escape with Romeo", "Zarths" or "Secret Discovery". Ralf Janzen (drums), Jens Weber (bass) and Klaus Groppe (vocals) joined the group later. Moon got a record deal with the Dortmund Subtronic label, they released the "Salinas EP" in fall 1992, named after the place of death of James Dean, Salinas. Moon extensively toured in underground clubs. The album "Explain" was recorded recorded in the Netherlands, France and England and produced by Markus Giltjes (Pink Turns Blue). After extensive tours with "Shock Therapy" and "Myrna Loy", Klaus Groppe left the band in 1994 and was replaced by Udo Woitowizck. Because of drug excesses of the singer a lot of concerts had to be cancelled. In fall of 1994 Udo Woitowizck finally disappeared on a South American tour without a trace. The band broke up then. In 2003 "Unexplained" was released on CD by the band with unpublished original recordings, live tracks and the remains of a third album, unpublished with Woitowizck, and a new track.
