Band, 1990-2004 US
Rock
Formed: September 1991, Orange County, California (USA). Disbanded: 2004 Despite their beginnings as a somewhat traditional death metal band Morgion had already completed its ascent into a fully fledged Death/Doom outfit by the time of their first album Among Majestic Ruin. Further releases; 1999's Solinari kept the trademark slow tempos and growled vocals, but added delicate atmospherics and tones. 2004's Cloaked By Ages, Crowned In Earth proved to be the band's final album and can be seen as a progression on the latter. After disbanding, two members of the final line-up (Justin Christian and Rhett Davis) formed Keen Of The Crow. Morgion attempted to reunite the "Solinari" line-up for a one-off performance at the 2011 Maryland Deathfest, but postponed to the following year. They later dropped out due to member issues.
