Motorbaby was formed by Sharon Middendorf with bassist/producer Ron Mancuso (Beggars & Thieves) and drummer Les Warner (The Cult) on NYC’s Lower East Side in 1994. Motorbaby was signed to Rawkus in 1996 and released their self-titled debut CD on Mercury in 1998. In 1999, Mancuso and Warner moved on to pursue other endeavors, and Sharon continued writing and recording.
