THE BRAIN MACHINE EMPORIUM OF PROFESSOR FIST Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, you are about to experience one of the most amazing adventures the world of science has to offer! Within this sting of ones and zeros is presented a collection of mechanical marvels specially constructed to perform the most ingenious modifications to the human brain. Professor Fist has spent countless hours of effort carefully designing and constructing these mechanical marvels with the express purpose of rearranging your mental materials into the most unique structures ever conceived by man. Never before has it been possible to so completely manipulate that grey matter knotted up within your cranial cavity. Each device is hand crafted and laboratory tested to perform with the utmost precision and delicacy. So, without further ado, please step inside, pop your top off and let's get to work! Recorded at Blood 'n' Tongue, Vancouver, BC, October 25 to November 02, 2010. For this collection, only "virtual / soft" synthesizer instruments were used. In this sense, this collection is a long overdue companion to the 2003 release, The Days Are Ahead. We continue to seek new applications for "thinking machine music". The human brain remains one of the great mysteries of existence. How so much can occur within this blob of jelly baffles the greatest minds. Some even speculate that it has the power to create reality itself. Whether such theories hold any validity is questionable at the very least. At the most, it can be said that our brains have provided humanity with the ability to completely modify our environment and ourselves far beyond anything natural processes would seem to permit. With such awesome power comes awesome responsibility to use this tool with as much care as possible. We have already shown ourselves to be capably of being the instrument of our own undoing. We teeter on the brink of our self destruction daily. Yet we insist on misusing this resource or we don't really use it at all, allowing our thoughts and actions to be controlled by others who have no interest in us nor our well being. You have a brain. It's a great thing. Put it to good use!
