Spoken Word
Mrs. Elliot was the eldest girl of a family of sixteen. Her vivid descriptions of the life of a poor rural family in the late 19th century are both fascinating and revealing. This kind of reminiscence rarely makes it into the history books and the descriptions are made all the more poignant by Mrs Elliot. Recordings and interviews by Peter Durridge. From recordings made in 1962 when Mrs. Elliot was 86. The recordings were made originally for possible use on 'Cotswold Roundabout' - a tape programme for the old, the blind and the disabled. This service is no longer in operation and therefore a royalty from the sale of this record is to be donated to Cotswold Hospital Radio, whose broadcasts cover Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Winchcombe hospitals.
