Mud Pie Sun is Steven and Tom writing and recording quiet and loud melodic pop-psych-folk-rock-garage songs in their Philadelphia-area homes. They first recorded as Mud Pie between 1989 and 1992, then went into hiatus when Tom moved to San Francisco. In 2003, Tom moved back to Philadelphia. They resumed writing and recording new songs under the name Mud Pie Sun in 2004. In 2012, they released a CD of 14 new songs called Wooden Circle under the Revolving Bell private label. In 2015, they remastered and re-released the long-lost 1992 cassette "New Swing Mood Things/Two At Noon." In 2017, they released the 4-song EP "Microcosmic Island: Songs of Jim Rao."
