American jazz guitarist from Laurel, Mississippi, born April 21, 1922. 'Mundy' as he is know, got his professional start with Ray McKinley and rapidly built a name for himself in the late 1940s. In addition to being a sought-after session guitarists during the 1950's, he is credited with discovering Bill Evans. Currently still performing at age 93!
