An independent artist, recording studio & record label. Murray Lake is a Sydney based musician, producer, recording and mix engineer. Entering the music world as a DJ, he has spent the last 12 years playing throughout the Australian club and Festival circuit. Late 2014, Murray opened Sentir Studio; an analog recording studio featuring a resplendent collection of equipment dating back to the 60’s. Early 2016, Murray began studying at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music. Later that year, Paris based record label, Tigersushi, released his remix of Guillaume Teyssier’s, Vortex Disco. The 12″ was released in collaboration with French Designer, Agnes B. Late 2017, Murray founded Sentir Sound, an independent record label. ‘Is This Goodbye Feat. Jamie Lidell’ was Murray’s, and the labels formidable first release. Released December 8, 2017, Clash Magazine called it “Entrancing future-soul that drifts past as if in a dream”, “sheer disco heaven” and a “powerful offering that makes parting sound like such sweet sorrow”. Murray spent 2018 working on 2 albums; a debut solo album, and the first label compilation. Spending 9 weeks in Paris, London & Greece, Murray worked with a 28 piece orchestra, feature vocalists and was mentored by Philippe Zdar. His solo album will be available early 2019. The first label compilation, ‘Murray Lake Presents; SENTIR Vol. 01’, features 11 different artists, spannig solo piano, psychedelic soul, electronica, funk and jazz. SENTIR Vol. 01 was recorded, produced and mixed by Murray at Sentir Studio.
