A.k.a. Muscaria
From 'Combatiendo Apatia' (1998), his debut album, Muscaria has revitalized the genre not only in sound, but in lyrics. Influenced by bands like Biohazard, Sepultura and Ratos de Porão, the lyrics spread like a narrative of what the group lives on, says Luiggy Cordovez, vocalist. He says that the idea of celebrating his career with a new album came from there. "We were on a tour of Colombia and we ran out of drummer. I felt unmotivated, but Robert (guitarist), who is a young musician and in fact is the age of the band, said it was time to continue playing and produce a self-titled album, "he says. Cordovez sought out several producers who, according to him, could raise the material and make it different. To his surprise, Billy Graziadei, leader of the American bands Biohazard and Power Flo, agreed to work with Muscaria. With the compositions ready, Muscaria's current line-up, composed by Cordovez as vocalist and bass, Robert Valencia on guitar and chorus, Juan Pablo Flores on guitar and Andrés Jaramillo on drums, traveled to Los Angeles, California, to record eight Unpublished songs at the Firewaters Records studio. In November 2017, the group presented Pacto, a musical part of the new album, produced by Cody Fuentes and recorded by Alexis Jarrín at the RedRoom Records studio. With Graziadei we worked on a more analogous and organic version of the song that is projected as the new Altered Affection, a melody that led Muscaria to occupy the 3rd place of the 'ranking' of MTV. Beyond the rebellious cut, the new lyric of Muscaria is condensed in titles such as Pain, Forge, Weed, Blessed, Stubborn and Clan, songs that explore the root of emotions such as persistence, the 'quarrelsome', the sacrifice and perseverance that It strengthens the permanence of the band.
