My Friend George was formed in Aalborg, Denmark in the summer of 1995. Rallie had previously played guitar in the punk band Scoff and Martin (drums) and Jesper (bass) found themselves without a band, as they had just been sacked from the one they used to play with. The three high-school buddies decided to form a new band, naming themselves after a song by Lou Reed.
