I have been playing in bands since 1983, after being rescued from Te Puke in 1988 I began my real journey as an originals artist, I I played 2nd guitar in PD Corp 1988 Rickenbacker 360/12 V64 - 1990. I then moved to Auckland and wrote several songs, performed twice as a solo artist. Moved to Dunedin 1992, played in Raspberry, first band as singer; songwriter; guitarist, learner rhythm section but we were all learning, good energy. Then came Foundry, 2nd Dunedin band, wrote more songs for that band, jazz drummer and funk bass player, me vocals and very clean guitar. then moved to Christchurch July 1994. Put an add in CJ's Music, from that Blister was formed. Wrote and co wrote many songs, both lead vocals and harmonies, wall of guitars via Soldano Hotrod 50+ and !974 Telecaster Deluxe and 1983 Gretsch Rockjet, Them I managed The Provincial Lounge, coolest bar in Chch at the time with my wife Tamara Dowson, I played my songs on an acoustic 12 string as a solo artist, was asked to join in on a soloists night, I was billed as Mych Prov as people didn't know my surname, the name stuck and I have performed under that name ever since, it encapsulates me as a proud Chch musician. Months later we tired of tyrannical management and set up The Jetset Lounge, which worked to a point but I was constantly undermined by a 3 way management structure which never communicated with each other. I resigned from the Jetset in Nov 1999 and I thought that was the end of my musical career. After 10 years of driving my wife up the wall with frustration of not playing, Andrew B White rang me up out of the blue, asked me what I had done post PD Corp, then rang again a little while later asking me to participate in a PD Corp 20 year reunion which I accepted. Twice PD Corp has saved me from a very mundane life and allowed me to explore and develop my potential as a musician. I bought an Italia Rimini 12 to replace the Ricky, Scotty furnished Jono and I with Orange Tiny Terrors for that tour, afterwards I bought one myself. I later sold it and bought a Dual Terror which I had the legendary Guy Benfield rebuild with Mercury parts and Tube Dr tubes to create a beautiful valve driven sound complimented with an ESP XJ12 and the Italia 12, both also set up by Guy. I posted a song from my solo set at The Dux Live late December 2014 on Facebook which caught the attention of Colin McDiarmid among others, we discussed the song and decided to jam the following afternoon with Darryl Kirk. Within 10 minutes of playing together we realized we were on to something very special, I had a solo set in 3 weeks time which we decided to be our debut gig as a 3 piece, I have been blessed with a strong songwriting form since that day, we are now Megahertz, have 23 songs and rising, and are looking forward to where this great journey takes us. We recorded our debut album Transmission in March/April 2015 which is a 7 track release, we are proud of it and will follow it up with a 12 song recording in 2016. We are an indie band with a wide set of influences, we love what we are doing and we hope you will too
