Limited edition 40 copies. "Seven Floors" is inspired by the novel by Dino Buzzati Usual non-standard package from BeTon The package consists of: - an avian color envelope such as those used in hospitals to contain reports, cm. 16x23. In the envelope is reproduced the logo of the clinic "Seven Piani" and the name of the patient "Giuseppe Corte", protagonist of the tale of Dino Buzzati - a report with notes and explanations in A4 cm format. 21X29,70 - three acetate inserts cm. 12x16. The inserts reproduce X-ray to the skull. In each skull there is a push-button or elevator floor indicator, always fixed on the first floor - a small acetate insert in cm. 6X8 with the man icon inside a lift fixed to the first floor. - a hand-painted metal plate that reproduces the emaciated face of a sick man. Twenty copies contain a black plaque and twenty copies contain a red placket. The slight damages inside or in the edges of the x-ray plates are the desired effects in this production, to convey the sense of progressive defeat and destruction of the patient. From inside notes: "Seppe così la strana caratteristica di quell'ospedale. I malati erano distribuiti piano per piano a seconda della gravità. Il settimo, cioè l'ultimo, era per le forme leggerissime. Il sesto era destinato ai malati non gravi ma neppure da trascurare. Al quinto si curavano già affezioni serie e così di seguito, di piano in piano. Al secondo erano i malati gravissimi. Al primo, quelli per cui era inutile sperare." Those whose forms of the illness weren't grave, but who certainly couldn’t be neglected, were assigned to the sixth floor. More serious infections were treated on the fifth floor, and so on and so forth. Gravely ill patients were housed on the second floor; and on the first floor, those for whom all hope had been abandoned." "Sette piani" è ispirato all'omonimo racconto di Dino Buzzati, pubblicato per la prima volta nella rivista letteraria "La Lettura" nel marzo 1937, ed in seguito compreso all'interno di diverse rac-colte ("I sette messaggeri", "Sessanta racconti" e "La boutique del mistero"). Dal racconto lo stesso Buzzati trasse una commedia, "Un caso clinico", rappresentata per la prima volta al Piccolo Teatro di Milano nel 1953, e poi riproposta in alcuni tra i principali teatri internazionali (Berli-no, Stoccolma, Ginevra, Göteborg, Buenos Aires; a Parigi la commedia fu adattata da Albert Camus). Il racconto, inoltre, ha ispirato "Il fischio al naso", film diretto e interpretato da Ugo Tognazzi. "Seven Floors" is inspired by the novel by Dino Buzzati, originally published in the literary magazine "La Lettura" in March 1937, and afterwards the story was included in different collections ("I sette messaggeri", "Sessanta racconti" e "La boutique del mistero"). From this story Buzzati himself drew a comedy, "Un caso clinico" (A case study), performed for the first time at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan in 1953, that was later revived in the main international theaters (Berlin, Stockholm, Geneva, Gothenburg, Buenos Aires; in Paris, the comedy was adapted by Albert Camus). The story has also inspired "Il fischio al naso", a film directed by and starring Ugo Tognazzi.
