Album US 1976 on Swallow Records label
World (Cajun)
"LAGNIAPPE" is a Louisiana-French word which means something extra, a little present. For example, you might order a dozen oysters in a restaurant. If the restaurant gave you thirteen for the same price, the extra oyster is lagniappe. We called this album "Lagniappe" because Nancy Tabb Marcantel always give you a little something extra in her music. Whether she is singing in French, English, or bilingually, whether the song is an old favorite or an original release, you'll find something extra to like in her style and her voice. Best of all, you'll find a bit of the mood and the magic of the Cajun Country of Louisiana in every song. Mes amis, ca c'est lagniappe!
