These sounds are a combination of naturally occurring sounds recorded in my apartment and sounds from my mall piano experiments. The mall piano experiments were recordings I made over a period of two weeks using homemade electronic devices such as two small battery-powered motors inside a metal pipe. I placed these devices on the strings of mall pianos and recorded the sounds. All of the sounds were recorded with contact mics, sometimes as many as 4 were used at one time, using a small 5 input mixer and a MiniDisc recorder.
