Nathaniel "Crockett" Wilkie, keyboard player on many soul albums, was born July 17, 1955 and died May 10, 2007. Crockett recorded professionally since he was a teenager. An original member of Gypsy Lane, a group of studio musicians that recorded for acts like the Ritchie Family and the Village People, Crockett’s career placed him in the company of some of music’s greatest. He spent 21 years working with Patti LaBelle and later toured with Najee, Jeff Majors and others.
