Neil Banning was born in Toronto, Canada on September 16th 1952 after his family immigrated from The Netherlands. Both his parents were concert musicians, his mother Magdalena was a classical pianist who performed concerts in Europe and Canada including the legendary Eaton College Theater in Toronto. His father Herman (while writing this is 95 years old) is a classical violinist who played in orchestras in the Netherlands and Canada. Neil was in two other bands - The Westend Fire Hydrant (Toronto Rock Band) and Just Sugar Please (Toronto Folk Band). He also was a well known maker of handcrafted pioneer-style furniture. Neil passed away a victim of Hodgkins disease in 1987 at the age of 35.
